For 2022 Truckfest returned to its traditional date at the start of May to celebrate the events 40th year. For the second year running opened the show early to public on Saturday afternoon. Visitors on Saturday afternoon and evening were treated to not only a preview of the trucks on display but also displays in the main arena from the monster trucks and Broke FMX followed by a light parade of trucks and a firework display to end the evening. There was definitely no shortage of trucks in attendance as the showground was full. Regular working trucks were joined by custom trucks, vintage and classic trucks and specialist trucks from around the United Kingdom, Ireland and Europe.

The event was again supported by the majority of the the main truck manufacturers with Volvo, DAF, Scania, Iveco, Mercedes and Renault all having stands showing their latest range. These were joined by specialist equipment manufacturers and service providers to the industry. There were also trade stands where anything trucking related could be bought including clothing and models. In the main arena there were displays to entertain the crowds with traditional Truckfest favorites the monster trucks proving popular. This year saw two monster trucks performing, Swamp Thing driven by Tony Dixon and Slingshot driven by Alan Vaughan. In addition to watching the monster trucks car crushing demonstrations the public could also take a ride in the back of the Slingshot ride truck. Joining the monster trucks performing in the main arena were Broke FMX performing their daredevil freestyle motocross while hosting in the main arena saw a popular return for another Truckfest favorite. Making the journey from the United States was Ice Road Trucker Todd Dewey and it was obvious he was pleased to be back meeting the public in between hosting duties in the main arena alongside Truckfest regular Mikey Faulkner.

In the main arena on Monday afternoon the award presentations were held. Some of the Scottish contingent that had made the journey were rewarded as Alex Anderson won best non-working show truck with their Volvo FH16, they also took second in best vintage truck and second and third in best classic truck. Also from Scotland Malcolm Group won best customized working truck and second in best paintwork with their Scania R560 R19WHM, third in best new truck and third in best fleet. The show as again a success with huge crowds on all three days turning out. Since the event it has been confirmed that the showground will be redeveloped starting on July 1st 2023. This means Truckfest will be able to take place at Peterborough next year in May subject to confirmation and will indeed be one of the last big events to be held on the East of England showground.
