The Nor-con, the Norfolk film, tv and comic convention returns to the Royal Norfolk Showground on 28/29th September. The event, now in its ninth year and growing in popularity, caters for fans of all things relation to film, tv, comic book and gaming characters and will feature special celebrity guests, displays, competitions and trade stands.

In the past Nor-con has attracted some big name celebrity guests and this year is no exception. From Dr Who there will be former doctors Peter Davison and Sylvester McCoy joined by assistants Nicola Bryant (all weekend) and Sophie Aldred (Saturday). From Torchwood Eve Miles (Saturday), Kai Owen & Gareth David Lloyd (all weekend) while for fans of Red Dwarf there is Chris Barrie and Hattie Hayridge (all weekend). These will be joined by Michael Van Wijk, better known as Wolf from Gladiators (all weekend), Star Wars actor Kenneth Colley (Sunday) and from Overwatch Cara Theobold (Sunday). They are all available for autograph and pre-booked photo sessions for an additional cost. Artists Lee Bradley, Lew Stringer, Grant Perkins, Mike Collins, Martin Griffiths, Nigel Parkinson (Beano) and Lee Townsend (Marvel) will also be at the show selling and signing their work.

Cosplay is always a big part of these events and Nor-con is no exception. Visitors are encouraged to come along dressed as their favourite characters and take part in the daily cosplay competitions. Each day will see a competition for children (6-13 years) and adults (14 years upwards). Guidelines for costumes can be found on the Nor-con website. A number of traders will also be in attendance who will be able to sell you anything ranging from artwork, figures, clothing, vintage toys and snacks. Displays at the event will include full scale replicas of the Delorean time machine from Back to the Future, K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider and BA’s van from the A-Team. There will also be DJ sets from Level Up Lerdy and the M.M.O.R.P.G. Show on stage.

The exhibition centre is disabled friendly with wheelchair access and toilets. Security will be in attendance at the event while marshalled parking on-site is free and also attended.
