Modified Nationals Performance and Tuning Show 2018

East of England Arena

The sixteenth Modified Nationals were held at East of England Arena Peterborough and as with recent years alongside the National Hot Rod and Custom Show. Car clubs from all around the Country camped for the weekend while displaying their cars around the showground at what has become one of the more popular events on the modified calendar. Along with the club displays there was also the Slammeduk Show Plaza where some of the best individual showcars could be seen. Inside the main exhibition hall was the Dodo Juice Ultimate 16, the top modified cars from around the Country competing for the title of ultimate show car 2018.

As well as the cars on display there was also a live action element to the weekend. Drivers from the British Drift Championship and HEL Driftcup were on hand to demonstrate their skills on the makeshift Direnza drift course that was set-up. Spectators also had the chance to experience drifting for themselves by taking a ride in the drift taxi, driven by one of the Championship drivers. In the main arena there was a stunt show taking place during the day along with rides in the Mayhem monster truck and freestyle BMX stunt display. Also demonstrating their cars during the day were the UK Lowriders with their hopping, dancing and three-wheeling specialised cars. The UK’s oldest wall of death display was also in attendance for crowds to enjoy. On the outdoor and indoor stages over the weekend there was no shortage of live music headed by regular Modified Nationals DJ Richie Don and joined over the weekend by a number of other DJ’s along with the Flaming Babez performing with fire. During the weekend there were also stage games and competitions where volunteers could win prizes. On Friday and Saturday evenings there was Club XS Party Weekender which again featured a number of DJ’s, Fire breathers, Stilt walkers and Dancers.
